An inorganic selenium salt used as a trace mineral supplement.
Why it turns up in dog food
- Supplies selenium for the antioxidant enzymes that protect cells, and for thyroid hormone function. Used in very small controlled amounts.
An ingredient on its own tells you very little.
What matters is how much of it there is and where it sits in the list. That is why we weigh
