A thickener extracted from the seed of the guar bean.
Why it turns up in dog food
- A plant-derived thickener and stabilizer. It is a soluble fiber, so it passes through largely undigested and adds texture rather than nutrition.

Manufacturers do not all use the same wording. These all mean the same thing.
An ingredient on its own tells you very little.
